Abstract

This article aims to examine the challenges faced in the design, implementation and evaluation of educational policies in Mozambique, highlighting the difficulties that negatively affect the development of the educational system in the country. Using a qualitative approach based on a literature review, the main barriers faced were analyzed, such as precarious infrastructure, lack of adequate funding, gaps in teacher training, regional and socioeconomic inequalities, and deficient evaluation and monitoring systems. Furthermore, recommendations are provided to overcome these challenges and improve the effectiveness of education policies in Mozambique, such as increasing resources, institutional strengthening, stakeholder engagement, improving monitoring and evaluation systems, and reducing regional disparities.
